Currently, sponsors of the incorporation effort in Ogden Valley are still in a holding pattern, waiting for behind-the-scenes statutory processes to unfold at the Lt. Governor’s (LG) Office, with feasibility consultants LRB, and Weber County.
The state LG’s office is currently analyzing opt-out requests made by landowners who own property within the boundary of the proposed incorporated Ogden Valley community and modifying the submitted map of the new town to reflect properties whose owners recently requested annexation into Huntsville Town. This modification also necessitates a possible tweaking of the feasibility study. Because of the size and uses of the proposed annexations, no impact to the current feasibility study is anticipated.
The next step will be an announcement by the LG’s Office of a second public meeting to be held in Ogden Valley that will be similar to the first one held at Snowcrest Jr. High. After this second meeting, incorporation sponsors will begin collecting signatures to have placed on the November 2024 general election ballot the question of whether or not Ogden Valley should incorporate.
If 51% of the registered voters in Ogden Valley vote in favor of incorporation in 2024, then the community will elect its leadership in 2025.
